Metcal STTC-107 Cartridge, Conical, Long, 1mm (0.04 in)

The Metcal STTC-107 Cartridge is a conical, long, 1mm (0.04 In) soldering tip that offers a wide range of options for through-hole and SMD Rework. It is compatible with the MX-500, MX-5000, and MX-5200 Systems, as well as the MX-RM3E and MX-H1-AV Hand-pieces. The 700 Series is designed for most standard applications.

Metcal's SmartHeat Technology is unique in that it senses the specific thermal demand directly at the solder pad and delivers the precise quantity and flow of thermal energy during both flux activation and intermetallic bonding phases, without any adjustment and calibration. This technology is radically different from conventional soldering irons, which sense and respond to the tip temperature and not the thermal energy demand of the solder joint, requiring users to calibrate their systems regularly.

In today's lead-free environment, conventional technology is thermally inefficient in producing consistently good quality solder joints, and leaves process control in the hands of individual operators. Metcal's SmartHeat Technology, on the other hand, provides users with a fully safe and thermally effective lead-free soldering solution, as well as complete process control.
